New Jersey Shows You the Total Before You Click Pay

New Jersey registered agent representation, billed at $99 per year. Includes the office address on your filings, same-day scanning of legal mail, and reminders for state deadlines.

Two disclosures, both quick. New Jersey Registered Agent.co would like to be your registered agent for $99 a year, so we are not a disinterested reviewer. And what Inc Authority charges in year two, we cannot tell you, because it is not printed anywhere a shopper can read it.

A Free First Year, Fairly Described

Buy one of their formation bundles and the agent role comes along for twelve months without a charge attached. Straightforward offer, and it lands at the moment a young company can most use the help. Calling it a trick would be unfair, so we will not.

Year Two Is Missing From the Record

Here is the gap. We went looking in July 2026 for what the renewal costs and came back with nothing to write down. Rather than estimate a figure or characterize one, we are going to state the absence and move to the numbers we can actually show you.

Why it matters is simple enough. New Jersey requires a registered agent on file for every year your LLC exists, not merely the first, so what is on offer is a recurring arrangement with half its pricing withheld at the point of decision. That objection stands whatever the figure eventually proves to be. Our complaint is with how the pricing gets presented, and not at all with how large it might turn out.

And a boundary on our own claim while we are at it: with BetterLegal publishing $90, ours is among the lowest annual prices in the state rather than the outright cheapest.

The state runs the opposite policy, and it is worth seeing next to a blank cell.

Every New Jersey LLC files its annual report online, because the paper channel no longer exists. The portal tells you the fee before you commit to anything: $75, plus a surcharge published in advance at $1 for an eCheck and $3 for a card. You know the total before your details go in. Forming the company works the same way, with the Certificate of Formation carrying a $125 fee under the filing instructions that accompany N.J.S.A. 42:2C-18. Changing your agent later is $25, quoted upfront on both the paper form and the portal.

None of those figures require you to reach a checkout screen or a phone call to discover. The state that regulates this industry manages full price disclosure with a website older than most fintech apps.

Firing Inc Authority in New Jersey Takes One Certificate

Four steps, and none of them are hard.

  1. Get the incoming agent appointed first. Do this before you file anything. New Jersey leaves the existing agent attached to your record right up until the change is processed, so filing before you cancel means the two appointments overlap and your company is covered without interruption. Reverse the order and you have created a stretch when no one can accept a summons on your behalf, which serves nobody.
  2. Confirm the agent qualifies. DORES, which is New Jersey's Division of Revenue and Enterprise Services, wants either somebody living in this state or a party cleared to transact business inside it, working at a New Jersey street address. A PO box is acceptable in the record only alongside that street address.
  3. File the LLC change certificate, Form L-122, with $25. Mail it with a check or run the same change through the state's online business amendments service. Either way the fee is $25, and the same amount applies if you update the agent inside your annual report instead.
  4. Verify, then cancel. When the public record shows our name, the handoff is complete and the Inc Authority account can be closed. Our change of agent page covers what the confirmation looks like.

Our Two Numbers

The first year is $99. So is the second, and so is every one after that. It covers our New Jersey street address sitting on your public filings where your home address would otherwise sit, court papers scanned into your portal the day they are served on us, a reminder before your anniversary month closes, and anything outside the court-and-state categories forwarded for $15 a piece.

If your free year with Inc Authority is running out, ask them for the renewal figure in writing before the card gets charged. Whatever comes back, you will be reading it beside a price that has been sitting on this page the whole time.
