What is a registered agent?

A registered agent is the person or company designated to accept legal papers, service of process, and official state correspondence for your New Jersey business. They must have a physical address in NJ and be available during regular business hours.

Can my LLC be its own registered agent in New Jersey?

No. New Jersey does not allow a business entity to serve as its own registered agent. You need to designate either an individual who meets NJ requirements or a professional service.

Can I appoint myself?

Yes, if you are 18+ with a physical New Jersey address. But that puts your home address on the public record with the Secretary of State, and you must be available at that address during business hours every weekday.

How much is your service?

$99 per year. All-inclusive — address, document scanning, forwarding, compliance reminders, online portal, privacy protection. No hidden fees.

When is the NJ annual report due?

On the last day of your formation anniversary month. If you formed your LLC in March, your annual report is due March 31 each year. The filing fee is $75. We remind you before the deadline.

How do I switch to you from my current agent?

Enroll with us. File a change form with the NJ Secretary of State and pay the $25 state fee. We provide the form and instructions. Once processed, documents route to us and we forward same-day.

What happens if I miss my annual report?

Penalties, potential loss of good standing, and eventually administrative dissolution. A dissolved entity loses liability protection and legal standing in New Jersey. We send reminders specifically to prevent this.

How fast do you forward documents?

Same business day. We scan and email every document on the day it arrives. It also appears in your online portal immediately.

What about New Jersey's alternative minimum assessment?

NJ has a $150 annual minimum assessment for LLCs treated as corporations for tax purposes. This is a tax matter separate from registered agent service. Consult your accountant to see if it applies.

Do you handle general correspondence for New Jersey businesses?

A registered agent in New Jersey serves a specific legal function. We receive service of process, lawsuits, subpoenas, Secretary of State correspondence, state tax notices, and compliance reminders. That is the purpose of our address.

Occasionally, general mail is directed to a registered agent address. We accommodate up to three such items per year.

This is not a general mailbox, virtual office, or mail forwarding service. Packages, Google Maps postcards, Amazon verification letters, and third-party verification mailings are outside our scope.

Is there a contract or commitment?
