Two Dates Nobody Is Watching for You

A New Jersey LLC that came through Bizee has two dates on it, and they have nothing to do with each other.

Date one: the day your free agent coverage ends. It depends on the package, it is buried in the order confirmation, and Bizee is not going to walk you up to it. Most owners discover it as a line item on a card statement.

Date two: the last day of your formation anniversary month. That is when New Jersey wants your annual report, $75 plus a small portal surcharge, filed online because the state kept no paper option. Form in June and it is June 30, forever. Form in November and it is November 30. Your first one is due the year after you form, not the year you form.

Neither date is on a national calendar. There is no spring filing season here that a mass email can be timed to, and the free-months clock is a purchase anniversary rather than a state one. Miss the second date twice in a row and New Jersey can revoke the company, which is a great deal more painful than the $75 you skipped.

Then It Is $149 a Year

Once the included period lapses, standalone registered agent service at Bizee is $149 annually. That is the number your relationship actually runs at, and it renews the same way every other subscription does.

Moving Your Appointment From Bizee to Us in New Jersey

N.J.S.A. 42:2C-15 is the provision that covers this, and in practice it is one filing and four steps.

1. Line up the replacement agent before you file. New Jersey will take a resident of this state, or any entity cleared to do business within its borders, so long as the office is a street address here. A PO box is welcome in the record beside that address and useless in place of it.
2. Fill out the change certificate. The LLC version is Form L-122, a document that covers a registered name, a registered address, or both together. It wants your entity name as the state spells it, the business ID, and the details of whoever is taking over the role. New Jersey's online amendments portal collects the same information if you would rather not touch paper.
3. Pay the $25. Paper filings travel with a check to New Jersey's Department of the Treasury, through its Division of Revenue and Enterprise Services; the portal takes a card or eCheck instead. If your report happens to be coming due, the same swap can ride along inside it for the same $25.
4. Check the record, then close the Bizee subscription. This order, not the other one. Until the state processes your certificate, Bizee is still your agent of record, so filing first and cancelling second means the coverage never lapses. Cancelling first creates the only gap available in this process.
